Greetings,
PASSION FLOWER

Hopefully, with the coming of spring will be the inspiration and desire for all us to strive for better health. Just as we spring clean our houses, so should we spring clean our bodies. Come join us and learn more about some of the benefits of herbs and living a healthy life.

One of the safest of all the herbal heart remedies, Hawthorn, is said to be one of the best herbs for the cardiovascular system. Because of the research that has been conducted in Europe on Hawthorn, it has become fully recognized as a heart remedy; These studies concluded that Hawthorn helped to strengthen the contractions of the heart, it helped to normalize an irregular heart beat, and increased coronary circulation.

Although, it's affects on lowering blood pressure are mild, when combined with other hypotensive herbs such as ginkgo, and dandelion leaf, Hawthorn is one of the most popular herbs for reducing blood pressure....

A statement released by the National Academy of Sciences says that too much fluoride added to drinking water can damage bones and teeth. In their statement, the academy also says that the current government levels put children at risk for severe tooth enamel fluorosis, which causes loss of enamel, pitting of the teeth and discoloration. The panel also suggests that people who injest flouride at levels near the governments standards are also at higher risk for bone fractures.

This information is nothing new to us in the natural health field. Concerns about flouride being a carcinagen have been raised for years. Flouride is not required at any levels in the body, and it has been suggested that it is even more toxic than lead. Protect yourself and your family from this toxin in our water supply by educating yourself on the health hazards associated with flouride. Read our most recent article on "The Sell of Flouridation in America". To avoid additional flouride, always drink filtered water and brush with a natural tooth paste which doesn't include flouride.

The body is a marvelous machine designed to heal and cleanse itself. However, daily exposure to chemical pollutants, preservatives in foods, smoking, alcohol, and other toxic chemicals take their toll on the bodies natural abilities to heal. The bodies own eliminative process normally takes care of itself by eliminating toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. The body takes toxins and stores them in fatty deposits, which helps to protect the system from imbalance. Unfortunately, because of the abundance of chemicals that we are exposed to each day, the body becomes overwhelmed and can’t eliminate these toxins quickly enough. This can cause the body’s immune system to be compromised and we are likely to develop symptoms related to autoimmune type diseases.

If any of the following apply to you, it may be time to consider a cleanse: v Unexplained weight gain of over 10 pounds. v Body odor, bad breath, or a coating on your tongue. v Frequent unexplained headaches, joint pain or arthritis. v Poor digestion, food allergies, constipation, or bloating and gas. v Nails which are brittle, hair with no luster and which may be brittle v Adult acne, or psoriasis. v Chronic sinus or respiratory problems; asthma. v Sensitivity to chemicals or smells. v Insomnia, problems with memory, irritability, depression, or chronic fatigue.

There seems to be a misconception about antacids. Most often people take antacids because they believe that they are difficient in Hydrochloric Acid (HCI). Often times this is not the case and the addition of HCI would actually aid in digestion. Antacids neutralize the acid, but in turn, the body compensates by producing more acid. Antacids also deplete the body of vital nutrients.

To determine if you are deficient in HCI, try this simple test at home. Take a tablesppoon af apple cider vinegar or lemon juice when you are experiencing heart burn or indigestion. If the heartburn or indigestion go away, this indicates that you were actually deficient in HCI and that you may need more stomach acid. If symptoms become worse, you should take care not to take anything that contains HCI.

We do hope that the information we have provided to you has been helpful. For more information or articles on natural health and healing, take a look at our website.

Sincerely,

NATALIE VICKERY, (CFH)
